Wow. First time in Europe, and I land here. Roma, Italy. Amazing city so far, I just had dinner facing the Vatican with St. Peter’s basilica dome facing me - all lit up beautifully.
The thing that hits me most is..where are all the high rises? Where are curtain walls - it’s amazing to see this big city - Roma, but not a single sight of glass skyscrapers or modern looking buildings. Singapore, Seoul, or any other big cities for that matter has that glass character, while Roma holds onto its roots with beautiful old ancient buildings and cobble stone flooring. How do cars run on cobble stones is beyond me. Food is amazing too, except the dinner was expensive..and rubbish portions. Why is everything so expensive here. I am going to be broke by the end of this trip. Save Save Save.
More to come, and I still miss you even when I am in this awesome city.
